        THROGGS NECK,, N.Y. (Oct. 22, 2012) – The Maritime men's and women's cross country teams took part in the St. Joseph's Invitational at Sunken Meadow Park in Long Island on Saturday in the final tune-up before the Skyline Conference Championship Meet next Sunday, Oct. 28. Freshman Cameron Coneys (Centerport, N.Y./Harborfields) (Centerport, N.Y./Harborfields) won the men's five-mile race to highlight the Privateers' day at the event.
 
        The men finished in fifth place overall, but was second among Skyline schools, behind overall winner St. Joseph's. Coneys led the way, crossing the finishing line first with a time of 27:53.3, a full minute before the second-place competitor. He was followed by senior Luke Milano (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh), who crossed in 22nd in 30:24.5, and sophomore Dillon Otten (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ward) (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ward), who was 27th with a time of 31:03.6. Senior Matt Taraboletti (Titusville, Fla./Astronaut) was the next Privateer to finish, coming in 44th place in 32:13.1 and freshman James Martin (East Northport, N.Y./Northport) (East Northport, N.Y./Northport) rounded out Maritime's scoring with a 54th place finish in 32:41.7.
 
        On Monday, Coneys was named by the Skyline Conference as the Conference's Male Runner and Rookie of the Week. This is the fourth time this season that he has doubled up on both weekly honors in the same week and it's the sixth time out of eight weeks that he was named the Rookie of the Week.
 
        On the women's side, junior Jackie Bellisari (Albertson, N.Y./Holy Trinity) (Albertson, N.Y./Holy Trinity) was the first Privateer to finish the 5K race, as she came in 24th with a time of 22:35.9. Classmate Martha Fjereide (Bergen, Norway/Fana Gymnas/University of Vestfold) (Bergen, Norway/Fana Gymnas/University of Vestfold) was next in 42nd place in 23:54.4, while freshman Victoria Folz (West Islip, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) (West Islip, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) placed 62nd in 25:44.0. Junior Courtney Hill (Palmdale, Calif./Quartz Hill) finished in 65th place in 26:04.4 and junior Theresa D'Amore (Blooming Grove, N.Y./Washingtonville) (Blooming Grove, N.Y./Washingtonville) rounded out the scoring with a 105th place finish in 30:08.6.
 
        The Privateers are back in action at the Skyline Championship Meet next Sunday, Oct. 28. The meet will be hosted by Mount St. Mary College up at Chadwick Lake Park in Newburgh, N.Y. First race
