THROGGS NECK, N.Y. (March 8, 2010) – After helping lead the Privateers women's lacrosse team to a season-opening 20-2 victory over the Eagles of the College of Saint Elizabeth on Saturday at Reinhart Field, freshman Kristen Wilson (Baldwin, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) was named the Skyline Conference women's lacrosse Rookie of the Week.

 

The Baldwin, N.Y., native scored two goals in the win – both tallies were in the second half. Wilson shot the ball five times, each time counted as a shot on goal. The freshman attacker also picked up two ground balls on the afternoon.

 

Senior Heather Christiansen (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) was also recognized by the Skyline Conference with a spot on the weekly honor roll. The middie scored a game-high six goals in the victory, while her seven ground balls also led all players.
