8.13.2010 | Cross Country
The SUNY Maritime College varsity men’s and women’s cross country team released its 2010 schedule Friday morning. The schedule has four meets at Van Corlandt Park, including the Skyline Conference Championships, which will be held on Sunday, October 31.

1.6.2010 | Cross Country
2009 was an outstanding year for Maritime Cross Country. Placing five runners in the top 14 at the Skyline Conference meet, the men ran their best race of the year when it counted the most and finished a strong conference runner-up with the youngest team. Maritime College was the only school to place each of its top five runners on the All-Conference team: Sam Rainard, Luke Milano, Gabriel Rosa, Matt Taraboletti, and Gannon O’Brien.

As the fall athletic seasons come to an end, Maritime College has compiled the top overall sportsmanship rating (.695) in the race for the 2009-10 Skyline Conference Sportsmanship Trophy, as announced by the conference on Friday. The announcement comes on top of the Privateers having already earned Team Sportsmanship Awards for men’s and women’s cross country earlier this month. Two seasons still remain, as the winter sports are beginning now and the spring sports commence at the end of February.

11.16.2009 | Cross Country
The Maritime men’s cross country team concluded a successful 2009 campaign this past Saturday when the team finished in 34th place at the NCAA Regional Championship in upstate New York. The top 5 teams and top 7 individuals not associated with those teams advanced to the NCAA Championships, which will be held in Cleveland next weekend. The defending National Champions, SUNY Cortland, won the meet. The Privateers were second among the three colleges representing the Skyline Conference.

11.12.2009 | Cross Country
The Maritime men’s varsity cross country team will compete in the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional championship this Saturday at Letchworth State Park in Castile, N.Y. There are 41 teams and almost 300 runners entered in the postseason meet. The Privateers go into the NCAA meet coming off a second place finish in the Skyline Conference Championship.

Athletes of the Week
Jorrie Trenkamp
Women's Soccer
Trenkamp was named to the Skyline Conference women's soccer honor roll for the first week of the season after she recorded the first two goals of the season for the Pirvateers in their loss at Southern Maine on Sunday.

Football
Barnes was named ECFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 1 after he was all over the field Thursday night in the Privateers' 15-12 season-opening win over rival Mass. Maritime in the Fourth Annual Chowder Bowl, recording a game-high 17 tackles (14 solo and 3 assisted), including one for a loss of eight yards. He is no stranger to ECFC Defensive Player of the Week nods, as he earned the accolade a conference-best three times during the season in 2009.
