2.6.2010 | Men's Swimming, Women's Swimming
The Maritime men's swimming team captured its third straight Skyline Conference Championship Saturday at SUNY Purchase. The Privateers, who ended the regular season with a 6-3 record, were a perfect 3-0 in Skyline action this year. Freshman Joseph Tucker was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year and head coach Peter Vecchio earned the Coach of the Year award at the conclusion of the event.

2.6.2010 | Men's Basketball
After shooting just 37.9-percent from the field in the first half and clinging on to a one-point lead, the Maritime men’s basketball team scored 57 points in the second on a remarkable 74.1-percent shooting performance to defeat Skyline Conference-foe Farmingdale State, 84-63, Saturday afternoon at the Riesenberg Hall Gymnasium. The win, the Privateers’ seventh consecutive, improves Maritime’s record to 15-4 (11-3 Skyline), while the Rams fall to 9-10 overall (9-5 Skyline). It also improves the Privateers’ record to a perfect 10-0 at home this season.

2.5.2010 | Men's Swimming, Women's Swimming
The Maritime men’s swimming team defeated Skyline Conference-foe Mount Saint Mary, 121-80, Thursday night at the Blue Knights’ Elaine and William Kaplan Center Pool. With the win, the Privateers improve to 6-3 overall, including a perfect 3-0 against Skyline opponents, while Mount Saint Mary falls to 9-3 (2-1 Skyline).

The Maritime football team gathered at The ESPN Zone in Times Square earlier this week to celebrate the successful 2009 season and to hand out the team awards. The night began with dinner, followed by a highlight video of the Privateers’ memorable season in which the squad compiled a 6-4 record, the first winning record in program history.

Junior Giovanni Hurley scored a season-high 22 points and brought down 13 rebounds for his second double-double of the year to lead the Privateers to their sixth-straight victory Wednesday night, a 63-54 road win over NYU-Poly at the Jacob’s Building. With the win, the Privateers improve to 14-4 (11-3 Skyline), while the Fighting Blue Jays fall to 4-15 (2-12 Skyline).

Benjamin Pearce
Men's Lacrosse
Maritime College freshman Benjamin Pearce won all three events he swam against Old Westbury Tuesday night: touching first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:22.46,
then the 100-yard free in 1:00.93, beating out his next closest competitor by almost 6 seconds in the short race, and then capping the night off by leading off the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 26.32, which led to a team-victory in 1:44.49.

Women's Swimming
Maritime College junior Caroline Hickey captured the top spot in two races in a meet against Skyline Conference opponents Old Westbury and St. Joseph’s Tuesday night. She won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:34.26, five seconds faster than the next swimmer. She then won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:10.41. Hickey was also part of a 200-yard medley relay team that came in second with a time of 2:14.64.
